On Monday, May 22, 2023, Sgt. McAdams observed a green Chevrolet Trailblazer, the driver had no seatbelt on, and the vehicle had improper exhaust. Sgt. McAdams attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped up and Sgt. McAdams initiated a pursuit. During the chase, speeds exceeded 80 miles per hour, the driver of the Trailblazer ran a stop sign, drove recklessly, and committed several other traffic violations. The driver stopped the vehicle at 614 Hamrick Road and took off on foot, the three passengers in the Trailblazer did not run. The passengers were not charged in this incident and aided in the investigation. During the investigation, the driver was identified as Jerry Lee Quintero. Sgt. McAdams, K-9 Janco and Sgt. Benson tracked Quintero about a mile through the woods but lost the track. It was discovered that someone had picked Quintero up after he ran, and he was no longer in that area. Multiple warrants were secured against Quintero.

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, information was obtained that Quintero was at 50 Bentley Road. When deputies arrived, Quintero fled on foot but was arrested by Sgt. McAdams on Rockmart Road. Jerry Lee Quintero a 36-year-old W/M out of Buchanan Georgia has been charged with Seatbelt Violation, Improper Exhaust, Obstruction of Law Enforcement, Driving while License Suspended, Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Driving on Suspended Registration, Reckless Driving plus additional charges. Quintero was also wanted on two Probation Violation warrants and is being held without bond at the Haralson County Detention Center.

McAdams continues to be a valuable asset to us as well as the citizens of Haralson County,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams. “He is a part of my Crime Suppression Unit that continues to find and arrest those who drive illegally and take risks that endanger citizens. We continue to strive to make our roadways safer for our communities.”
